Chapter 9: Using the Model Documentation Tool

The Telestra Model Documentation tool allows users to generate PDF documents from a model’s

XML ﬁle, which is constructed automatically by the Model Builder software running on the

DACS. The Model Documentation tool requires that candidate XML ﬁles be constructed by

Model Builder version 4.09 and later.

There are two ways to select a model’s XML ﬁle for PDF generation:

• Upload the XML ﬁle to Telestra from a computer on the network through the RMS inter-

face.

• Select the XML ﬁle through RMS’ DACS single-ﬁle transfer screens.

Uploading an XML File

Using the RMS web interface, click the “DocTool” image in the RMS Menu.

This will take you to the XML ﬁle upload form. Note that you will not be allowed to upload an

XML ﬁle if the Model Documentation tool is in the process of generating a PDF from a different

XML ﬁle.

Click the “Browse...” button to locate the desired XML ﬁle on your local system, then click the

“Upload XML File” button. After the upload is complete, click the “OK” button on the conﬁrma-

tion screen.

RMS will then present the Document Information screen (described below).
