DACS Settings

DACS: IP Address

Class: Required

This setting is required for each DACS system you wish to access via the Telestra

RMS server.

This is the IP address for a speciﬁc DACS system on the network. Each DACS system will

have at least one network interface (but can have more), and each card will have its own IP

address.

For DACS with only one ethernet card, this is the IP address of that single card.

For DACS with two ethernet cards, this is the IP address of the DIS (or HLA) interface for

systems on a DIS (or HLA) network, not the host interface.

DACS: Name

Class: Recommended

This is the user-speciﬁed name for a DACS system.

This will help you differentiate between machines based on something other than their IP

addresses alone.

This description will be displayed in the “DACS Systems” frame that is displayed by clicking

on the “Find DACS” menu option in the RMS menu (orange blocks) at the top of the screen.

ASTi recommends that you keep this setting brief, yet speciﬁc.

This ﬁeld is not required for the RMS server to function properly.

The RMS system allows you to enter descriptions for DACS systems on the network. This will

help you differentiate between machines based on something other than their IP addresses

alone.
