Telestra version 2.1, September 2002
• New: Telestra 2.1 adds RMS support for the ASTi high-frequency (HF) radio propagation
server with ALE support, satellite communications server, panel state machine runtime
environment, and ASTi’s new USB I/O device for panel interface to state machines.
• New: Telestra 2.1 adds HLA support for DMSO HLA RTI 1.3NGv6 and MÄK HLA RTI
1.3.7.
• New: The Model Documentation Tool uses a newer, high-performance XML parser which
greatly reduces the amount of time required for PDF generation.
• New: DACS system information screens include the amount of free and used memory for
each system. DACS systems can now be explicitly rebooted.
• Change: The default IP address for Telestra network interface eth2 has changed; it is now
20.1.1.1.
• Change: The Telestra Configuration File formats for DACS host, terrain and tactical data
link server IP addresses has changed. Previously-generated “telestra.conf” files containing
the old format must be changed to work with version 2.1. In the following table, “dacsX”
would correspond directly to a DACS system previously configured for RMS management,
e.g., “dacs1”, “dacs2”, etc. The “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” portion would represent a correct and
valid IP address for the associated server.
Table 9: Changes to the Telestra Configuration File for DACS Server Routing
• Fixed: The ICD offsets have been fixed in the Model Documentation Tool.
• Fixed: A seven second waiting period is introduced on DACS restart after loading a differ-
ent configuration file. This keeps RMS from returning a “DACS not responding” error in the
event the DACS is restarting (MB not running) when the system is polled.
• Broken: The “RestartOff” state in the Model Builder software (e.g., during model editing)
does not affect RMS’ ability to attempt to load a new “.cfg” file. If in “RestartOff” mode, a
DACS will not restart with the specified configuration file, although it will appear to do so
in RMS. Only after Model Builder comes out of the “RestartOff” state will it load the RMS-
specified configuration file and restart. Model Builder loads with “RestartOn” by default.
