Chapter 15: USB I/O Device Software Conguration
Software Conguration
See your system documentation for USB I/O device hardware specication, installation proce-
dures, etc. The following software conguration is also included in that document.
To utilize ASTi USB I/O devices in conjunction with the Panel State Machine Runtime Environ-
ment, the system software must be congured to associate each device’s serial number (embedded
in its rmware) with a functional software label (e.g., “Pilot”, “Copilot”, etc.).
This procedure integrates a specic USB I/O device with a specic instance of the panel state
machine. The procedure must be performed at system initialization, and whenever a USB I/O
device is replaced. Labels and associated serial numbers are stored in the USB hardware congu-
ration and mapping le on Telestra.
USB I/O device conguration is made easy through utilities available via the Telestra RMS web
interface. The following discussion describes the basic USB I/O device conguration procedure.
Using a web browser, access RMS and select the Telestra connected to the USB devices to be con-
gured.
1 Click the “USB” link in the RMS menu.
2 For each USB I/O device in the hardware conguration and mapping le, RMS will dis-
play its serial number, label, IP address, rmware version, and other information.
3 RMS will automatically detect plugged-in USB I/O devices, and compare them to the
hardware conguration and mapping le. It will display the status of each: Plugged-in and
Congured (green status), Plugged-in and Not Congured (yellow status), or Congured
but Not Plugged-in (red status).
