HLA: Federate RID File
The RID le provides control parameters for the RTI software. The specied RID le
must be located in the “/usr/local/asti/rid” directory at runtime.
You can select a RID le that was previously uploaded to the system by clicking the “pick”
link next to the lename slot in the edit form. You can also simply type in the desired lename;
this is helpful if you know the RID le name, but have not yet uploaded the RID le itself. It is
not necessary to enter the full path to the RID le in this eld.
If no RID le is specied, the RTI uses default values for its control parameters.
This le is NOT supplied by ASTi.
HLA: Federate Fed File
This eld denes the Fed le that the system will use. The Telestra system is shipped
with multiple versions of the ASTi SOM pre-installed in the “/usr/local/
asti/fed” directory. You may also copy a custom SOM or FOM (in the fed le
format) to this directory.
You can select a Fed le that was previously uploaded to the system by clicking the “pick”
link next to the lename slot in the edit form. You can also simply type in the desired lename;
this is helpful if you know the Fed le name, but have not yet uploaded the Fed le itself. It is
not necessary to enter the full path to the Fed le in this eld. Note: Any custom Fed le must
incorporate an ofcial version of the ASTi SOM.
HLA: Federate Convert File
This eld contains the name of the le that denes the data representations used by
the federate. The Telestra system is shipped with multiple versions of the conversion
les pre-installed in the “/usr/local/asti/fed” directory.
Each Fed le has a corresponding Convert le. The versions of the specied Fed le and Con-
vert le must match. The matching SOM version is evident in the name of the Conversion le.
It may be necessary to modify the data representations le, dependent on the specic FOM
being used. To use a non-standard data format, please contact ASTi at [email protected].
You can select a Convert le that was previously uploaded to the system by clicking the
“pick” link next to the lename slot in the edit form. You can also simply type in the desired
lename; this is helpful if you know the Convert le name, but have not yet uploaded the Con-
vert le itself. It is not necessary to enter the full path to the Convert le in this eld.
HLA: Federation
This eld denes the federation that is joined when a “JOIN” command is used with-
out an argument, or the “Join at Startup” parameter is set to “yes”. Two federates
must be joined to the same federation to exchange information.
HLA: Federate
This eld allows the user to specify the federate name. This name must be unique for
a given federation. If this eld is empty, each system will automatically select a
unique name based upon the local IP address.
